Accessibility statement

A website designed for more people to use

McBride's is working toward a website that supports keyboard, screen-reader, magnification, voice-input and reduced-motion users.

Our accessibility commitment

Helping more people use the McBride's website

McBride's RV & Boat Storage is committed to providing a website that is usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, magnification, voice input and reduced-motion settings.

The site's accessibility target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This statement describes the design measures used in the current website draft, known limitations and ways to request help or report a barrier.

No formal conformance claim is being made yet.
The website should complete documented automated and manual testing before McBride's represents the production site as conforming to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Accessibility standard

WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the design target

WCAG organizes accessibility requirements under four principles: content and controls should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. The McBride's redesign uses WCAG 2.2 Level AA as its technical target.

WCAG conformance applies to complete pages and defined processes, not isolated components. A final determination requires testing the deployed production website, including third-party services and any future availability, payment or rental workflows.

Measures included in the redesign

Accessibility features built into the site

Keyboard access

The template includes keyboard-operable navigation, visible focus indication, an Escape-key close behavior for menus and a skip-to-content link.

Semantic structure

Pages use landmarks, headings, lists, labels, buttons, links and table headers to communicate structure to browsers and assistive technology.

Responsive layouts

Layouts adapt for smaller screens, and the design avoids requiring a desktop-sized viewport for primary content.

Reduced motion

Nonessential transitions and reveal effects are minimized when the user's device requests reduced motion.

Image descriptions

Informative facility images include text alternatives. Decorative images should use empty alternative text when added later.

Forms and controls

The contact-page email helper uses visible labels and native form controls. The customer reviews the prepared message in the customer's email application before sending.

Readable content

Pages use plain-language headings, short paragraphs, descriptive links and customer-focused explanations.

Expandable FAQs

Frequently asked questions use native details and summary elements so they can be operated with standard browser and keyboard behavior.

Technical information

Technologies used

The website relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. WAI-ARIA attributes are used where they communicate the state and relationship of navigation controls.

The site is intended for current browsers and common assistive technologies. Compatibility has not yet been verified across a documented browser, operating-system and assistive-technology test matrix. That testing should be completed on the production deployment before publishing a formal compatibility list.

Known limitations

Areas that may require an alternative

Email request helper

The contact-page helper depends on a configured local email application and the mailto: protocol. If the feature does not open an email application, call or text 909-606-5700, or email StorageDesk@McBridesRVStorage.com directly.

Third-party maps and applications

Directions, telephone, texting and email links may open third-party applications. McBride's does not control the accessibility of those external applications. Call the storage office for verbal directions or assistance.

Older or newly added content

Legacy files, newly uploaded documents, third-party widgets or future media may not automatically inherit all accessibility features in the current HTML template. Report any inaccessible item so an alternative can be provided and the issue can be reviewed.

Future availability and rental tools

The database, chatbot, payment and AI-agent rental features discussed for future development are not part of the current static website. Those workflows will require separate accessibility design and testing before release.

Alternative assistance

We can provide information another way

If any website content or function is difficult to use, contact the storage office. The office can provide assistance with current availability, general pricing ranges, facility information, directions and storage questions by telephone, text or email.

Accessibility feedback

Report a website barrier

When reporting a problem, include the page address, what you were trying to do, what happened and, if comfortable sharing it, the browser or assistive technology being used. Do not include passwords, payment information or sensitive customer records.

Assessment status

Testing still required before launch

The current redesign includes accessibility-oriented coding patterns, but code review alone does not establish conformance. Before launch, McBride's should test the deployed site using a combination of automated checks and manual review.

  • Keyboard-only navigation and visible focus
  • Screen-reader reading order and control names
  • Text and interface contrast
  • Zoom, reflow and small-screen behavior
  • Form labels, errors and instructions
  • Image alternatives and decorative-image handling
  • Headings, landmarks and page titles
  • Reduced-motion behavior
  • External widgets and complete customer processes

A formal conformance statement should be published only after the scope, evaluation date, level, pages covered and technologies relied upon have been documented.

Ongoing accessibility

Review accessibility whenever the site changes

Accessibility review should be part of future releases, especially when McBride's adds live space availability, exact pricing, a customer chatbot, agreement signing, payment, gate-access provisioning or an API that allows AI agents to assist with rentals.
